Linda Gordon has recently moved to Devon, in the southwest of England, after a year-long artist's residency in rural Northumberland. Whether working indoors or out, her focus has always been upon the earth and our relationship with the natural environment.

Her career has been a process of evolution - from art teaching, pottery and running various small art-related enterprises to full-time professional practice as an artist. She is a graduate of Sir John Cass College of Art, London (specialising in photography and sculpture) and of the University of Brighton (BA Hons, Fine Art - Sculpture).

In addition to her environmental and installation works in this country and abroad, Linda has carried out photographic and live art events, and is experienced in self-initiated projects and collaborations. She also gives talks and workshops, and carries out commissions for both corporate and individual clients.

She particularly enjoys residency projects, which enable her to respond moment by moment to a place or community. Residencies have included: VARC (Visual Arts in Rural Communities) artist in residence, Northumberland, 2005 - 2006. Kamiyama Artist-in-Residence, Tokushima Prefecture, Japan (2002), and a Year of the Artist Residency (2000) at Seven Sisters Country Park, Sussex.
